Un nouveau virus capable
de brûler le disque dur se propagerait par courrier électronique
sur Internet, sous la forme d'un fichier attaché nommé
"Merry Christmas" ou "le Joyeux Noël".

Il n'existe aucun virus correspondant aux caractéristiques décrites, cette alerte
est un canular. S'il existe bien un virus
Zafi.D qui se propage via un courrier électronique
intitulé "Merry Christmas", le nom du fichier
attaché est différent, ce virus ne brûle
pas le disque dur, il n'est pas nouveau puisque apparu en décembre
2004 et n'est pas non plus destructif, contrairement à
ce qui est indiqué dans le message en circulation. Une
traduction française mot-à-mot de la fausse alerte
a par ailleurs changé le nom anglophone du fichier attaché
